Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Honest Review: Differences with K5

Lenovo recently released their budget friendly smartphone Lenovo Vibe K5, but today we are not reviewing this, rather we are going for its older brother Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus (as there is no much difference between two smartphones and K5 is better and pricing are more or less similar).

Design and Build-

Vibe K5 Plus is one of the smartphone in this price segment having a metal body (though only the middle of the back is metal while other parts remain the plastic). The phone looks very good especially the grey one (there are also white and golden colors are available). The phone feels solid in the hand. Though everybody may not like the design language.

The display here is a 5 inch Full HD panel with decent viewing angles. The display is vivid and sharp and it is the first phone in this price having a Full HD display, which is a pretty cool thing.

display and ui

It has a Snapdragon 616 processor (an upgraded version of Snapdragon 615) with 2 Gigs of RAM. Though it sports Qualcomm’s quick charge but Lenovo hasn’t included any quick charger.

Software and User Interface-

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is running on Vibe UI based on Andoid 5.1. But this is not the UI we saw on Lenovo K4 Note. The UI is pretty responsive but we feel a little bit of lag navigating through its UI. It is not a big deal- just change the default launcher with any other third party launcher available on Play Store.

Vibe K5 Plus has a 13MP back and a 5MP front camera. The camera quality is decent. There is nothing special in this department but the both the camera just did their job done. Here are some camera samples-

It has 16GB inbuilt memory with a micro SDcard slot for expanding memory.

The battery is here a 2750mAh battery. A 5 inch display with Full HD resolution with this battery is not enough lasting for a full day but you get a good battery life if you are a moderate user.

The phone performs very well. Day to day usage is very good with this phone and even heavy games like Asphalt 8 and Mordern Combat 5 are running smoothly. But it comes with the cost of overheating. Yes you heard it right. There is a overheating issue. Memory management is excellent in this device.

Now here comes our final thoughts and the difference between Vibe K5 Plus and Vibe K5

Lenovo Launched Vibe K5 at a privce of 7k in india and Lenevo Vibe K5 plus is now priced 8k only. Just by paying 1k extra you get a better display, a better chipset and overall good performance otherwise everything remains same. Both devices support Theatermax technology. Both devices face overheating issues even in casual gaming. Even cameras perform similar, they are just average front and back both. Even in Design both devices exactly look alike. So we feel there is no need for another post on Lenovo Vibe K5, but honestly saying Lenovo Vibe K5 plus is a very great choice under 8k price.
